Our Boy!

This is a Great American!

In my opinion, this man, my former youth minister from high school, is truly a Great American. He is now a pastor living south of Atlanta. My husband and I often comment that Christians on national television do not take the opportunity to proclaim the name of Jesus Christ and he certainly did! I can truly say he is a Man of God and I feel so blessed to have his influence on my life!

Our Valentine Tradition

It has become our family Valentine tradition to have a candlelight dinner together as a family. Jeremiah and I plan out a meal that the whole family will enjoy, including a special desert. This year it was pasta and scallops, salad and for dessert a brownie and the kids favorite: maraschino cherries!

We all try to look our best and be on our best manners. However, Eli hasn't quite learned proper dinner table manners. We caught him putting his face into the whipped cream. We couldn't help but take a picture and knew he really wasn't quite himself that night. We learned the next morning he had a double ear infection. At least he enjoyed the whipped cream.

This has become such a special event in our home that our girls will talk about it all year and as Valentine's Day approaches they always ask if we are going to have the special dinner. They try to guess what we will be having, plan out their attire and anticipate our picking them up for this special night. I usually lead up to this night by having the girls and I study 1 Corinthians 13 the days before and we talk about what Christ-like love is supposed to look like.

I feel like Jeremiah and I could go on a date any day of the year, but this is a special time for us to really show our children our love and be able to serve them in a unique way. Jeremiah commented last night that their husband will have some high standards to live up too!

Did the groundhog really see his shadow?

Less than a week ago I was writing that the temperature that morning was 16 degrees. And last I checked it is still February. But as the weather man said, we are having spring in the middle of winter! My friends, the past three days it has been a beautiful 70+ degree day! Even with a sinus infection the little man and I got outside a bit and shot some hoops. Here are some sweet pictures of him. Oh spring, please stick around just a little longer. We are already spoiled.

By the way, I know that is a pink soccer ball. We do have a basketball but it is huge for him and remember, he has two older sisters!!!!

Field Trips

Wisdom Seekers at King Tut...

We had a wonderful day of field trips yesterday. We went to see the King Tut exhibit and the Terracotta Soldiers from China. I didn't get many pictures since cameras were not allowed in the exhibit, but a few group shots of some eager to learn homeschoolers and some very cold homeschoolers. BTW, for anyone interested, it was 16 degrees in Atlanta this morning, wind chill factor of 4 where we live!
